As you can see most CD-Writer manufacturers are using other drive brands in their products. The most common drives are from JVC, Philips, Ricoh, Sony & Yamaha.
The big "winner" is the Philips CDD-3610 IDE drive which is used in 40 different CD-Writer brands/types! As a good second the Yamaha CRW4001 IDE/SCSI drive comes in with 20 different CD-Writer brands/types.
Keep in mind this is an ever growing list and it will never be "finished". It is possible that there are mistakes made or that a CD-Writer company changes from drive manufacturer and leaves the type the same. So comments are always welcome!
